Maher: Southerners Should Only Have One Day to Celebrate Confederate Heritage - 'St. Cracker's Day' (news busters )
As NewsBusters has been reporting, Bill Maher spent much of his week bashing
red states.
After taking a cheap shot at Kansas early in Friday's _Real Time_ on HBO,
Maher took aim at Southerners saying that they should only celebrate their
Confederate heritage once a year - "We'll call it 'St. Cracker's Day'" (video

BILL MAHER: New Rule, if Irish Americans can manage to celebrate their
heritage in just one day, then Southerners should be able to do also. That's
right, instead of spending the whole year flying the Confederate Flag and
saying "The South Will Rise Again," you get just one day. We'll call it "St.
Cracker's Day." And we even have the t-shirt ["Kiss Me I'm Yer Sister"].

My 14 year old daughter has some friends who are forever in some way wearing the confederate flag (shirts, Belly Button rings, hanging them from cars etc...) I have strong opinions about this but I would like to hear yours..Maybe I am overreacting. And yes we do live in the South.
I'm kinda from the South, lol... The confederate flag isn't a big deal to me. I don't look at it as a racist thing. I wasn't brought up to think that flag was racist. But everyone has learned different things in regards to that flag. I wouldn't blast it in someones face if I knew for a fact that they look at it as a racial thing.
